We have an office that gets sun from first thing until about lunchtime and it has been unbearably hot even with the window open & the blinds closed. The film has certainly made a difference as I can walk in without been hit by a wave of heat now. My only difficulty was fitting it to a old multi-paned window as it was almost impossible to trim the edges once in place without the sheet moving around, so I had to cut them to size before fitting.
this film is great.as i live in Malta and we have a really hot summer i tried it and i ve seen the results. one can see the difference after installing it.its easy to intall it as well.
This film really does make a BIG difference to the solar heat transmitted through a window. There is a very slight tint to the film, but it’s really too slight to be noticeable at all so don’t let this put you off. This film’s a must if you get a lot of direct sunlight through a window, making a big difference to the overall temperature – after fitting I noticed a drop of over 5-10 degrees C. The fitting instructions are really easy to follow and the film itself is straightforward to fit, as long as you take your time and don’t rush it. All I used was a craft knife blade to clean the glass before fitting, scissors, a window cleaning squeegee, a small plant water sprayer and a few drops of baby shampoo. I took the double glazed units out of the frame to fit mine (as it was a windy day) so it was even easier. It’s stood up to the normal inside window cleaning and dusting well and looks pretty hardwearing with no scratches yet, although I’d give it a week or so after fitting to allow the adhesive to cure properly before doing anything to it. The only negative thing is that I wish I’d done this sooner! Top product – now for the rest of the house…
